Maybe you don't have room for that extra subwoofer, or maybe you just want to feel even more rumble when you're watching a movie. Today you can incorporate the low-end effects literally at the seat of your pants. A couple of ways to do that include the Integrated Motion System (IMS) from D-Box and the ButtKicker from Ibeam.

The D-Box product combines a motion platform that fits under your theater seating and a controller that identifies the movie in your DVD player. Movie-specific motion codes send signals to the platform that give your seat an extra jolt or movement that changes with each collision, turn in the road or foot chase. It works with Blu-ray Disc players, too, for high-def heart racing.

The ButtKicker seat shaker pops under a seat and also puts you more at one with a movie. The low-end frequencies give the seat vibrations that add great dimensionality to film watching.
